Rebecca Murphy wrote about the tradition of choosing a word to describe your year last January, and selected bold as her word of choice for 2013.
What’s your word for 2014?
I choose venture. I want to get out – try things, meet people, venture to new places, and be active. Some synonyms: endeavor, experiment, investment and adventure.
What’s the point of have one word to describe an entire year? It’s like a guide. Many of us make a few New Years resolutions that quickly fade into the daily grind. But what about our goals? How can we hold ourselves accountable to things we want to achieve within the coming year?
Put your goals into a word.
One word is easy to remember. If you’re making a decision, think of your word: is the decision in accordance? We all have many goals, but what do we want to manifest and embrace for ourselves this year?
Imagine yourself in December: as you review 2014, what characteristic do you want to have developed in yourself?
One word. Simple, minimal.
